| The Squid Game Poster by Netflix |
I had some reservations about this Series, I thought it would just be a rip off of the excellent “Alice in Borderland (AIB)” Series (read my Review about it here by the way) which I absolutely loved.
And after watching it, not only does it have the similar themes as AIB, but also pushes the same Emotional Buttons, especially during its more emotionally charged moments, which is Episode 3 in AIB and Episode 6 on this one.
However, that being said, it does have enough unique qualities to make it distinct from AIB also, and make very well worth watching. For one, I liked that they added a little bit of humor in the Series, something which was lacking in AIB.
The acting was pretty good, kudos to all of the Main Characters who did a splendid job. The Writing and Characterizations were also very well done. All of these make for a Series that is very effective as a Thriller.
I watched this with English Dubbing, and I think that special mention should go to the English Voice Actors for doing a splendid job in dubbing the Series.
The English used was simple, and each Voice and Voice Character was very apt for the Actors and Actresses. The English Voice Acting was I think one of the main reasons for the success of the Show.
The only thing I could think of that could be counted against it is that there is quite a bit of graphic violence onscreen, like People being executed outright if they lose the Game, so it might not be for everyone.
But for me, this is one of the best Series this Year on Netflix right now and a Must-See.
