Best Series and Movies on Netflix - April 2024

The Netflix Logo

Here are what I think are the at least watchable to Best Series and Movies that I watched on Netflix for the Month of April 2024

* Sisu (2022) Movie - Great, Action-Thriller "Revenge Movie" set in Finland during World War Two (WW2). Sort of like, "John Wick meets Rambo meets Die Hard versus the Nazis". Too much "Plot Armor" at times, but still incredibly entertaining. You don't actually hear the Main Character speak until the very end of the Movie

* Files of the Unexplained (2024) Season 1 Documentary Series - Great, some of the Episodes were really good, and most are pretty interesting. The Topics include Unidentified Flying Objects (UFO), Aliens, Missing Persons, Mysterious Blobs, etc

* Scoop (2024) Movie - Great, an excellent Drama-Black Comedy about the fairly recent Scandal involving Prince Andrew and his Friendship with Jeffrey Epstein, and his subsequent Interview at the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) Media Company that ended up hastening his Fall from Grace from the Royal Family

* Ripley (2024) Limited Series - Great, a Psychological Crime Thriller with a sprinkling of Black Comedy throughout. Excellent Acting by Everyone in the Cast, and excellent Script and Characterizations also. Filmed in Black and White and set mainly in the 1960s Italy. Starts a bit slow, but will keep you at the edge of your Seat starting from Episode 3. A Must Watch on Netflix

* What Jennifer Did (2024) Documentary Movie - Great, about the Murder and Attempted Murder of an Asian Wife and Husband in Canada. Sort of predictable at the start, but the Film was good enough to still make what happened look compelling.

* Berserk: The Golden Age Arc - Memorial Edition (2022) Anime Series - Great, this is probably one of the best Animes on Netflix right now, but it has a very Mature Theme, with lots of Violence and Gore, and some Nudity and Sex Scenes as well hence it might not be for everyone. The Series is set in Medieval Times with Castles and Knights, and the first half is mainly Action.

The second Half though turns darker still and becomes more of a Dark Fantasy, especially towards the end. The Plot, Characterizations, Twists, etc. are pretty good, typical of a great Series. The Animation itself is pretty good, and I like the simulated Camera Work that they do, and as well as the Cinematography. A Must See for me, but only if you are not the too queasy type

* Jurassic World: Dominion (2022) Movie - The Action Scenes are Outstanding, very thrilling, but the Main Ones don't start until near the Middle of the Movie, when they reach Malta. The Movie also served as a Bridge for the Stars of the "Jurassic Park" and "Jurassic World" Movie Series to meet and work together.

I saw this at the Movie Theater when it was first released back in 2022, but I prefer watching it now on Streaming as the Picture Quality (PQ) is just a lot better. The Audio on Netflix seemed a bit low though, hence I had to watch it with the Subtitles on

* Downton Abbey: A New Era (2022) Movie - Great, a "Feel Good" Look thru "Rose Colored Glasses" of the Life and Times of a Minor Branch of the Royal Family, and it works very well. All the Glamour and Dignity of a Royal Family with the constant English Type of Humor makes for an enjoyable Movie to Watch.

The Pacing is pretty fast, and there's always interesting or entertaining happening on the Screen. This is definitely one of the Best Movies you can watch on Netflix right now.

* Article 370 (2024) Movie - Great, Indian Production with Hindi Dialogue and English Subtitles, about the Indian Government's attempt to solve the Peace and Order Problem in the State of Kashmir. Excellent Acting, a very effective Political Thriller/Action Movie, one of the better ones I've seen outside of Hollywood.

* The Doomsday Cult of Antares de la Luz (2024) Documentary Movie - Good, an excellent Insight on what went on in the Minds of the Members of a Cult in Chile when they committed a Heinous Murder back in 2012. The Level of Delusion with which they voluntarily submitted themselves into was almost unbelievable at times

* City Hunter (2024) Movie - Good, fast paced, a pretty decent Action-Comedy-Thriller about a Detective in Modern Day Japan. The Action sort of went overboard though near the End, and the very Japanese type of Humor also was a bit weird and overacting at times.
