3I/ATLAS may be an Alien Spacecraft that will be slowing down and hiding its Actions from Earth

 Is the Interstellar Object 3I/ATLAS Alien Technology? 

Interesting that Avi Loeb, a Theoretical Physicist who has a Doctorate Degree in Physics and used to be the Primary Lecturer of the Astronomy Department at the Prestigious Harvard University in the United States (US) now think that the newly discovered Interstellar Object named as "3I/ATLAS" may in Fact be an Extraterrestrial Spacecraft. 

He released this Theory in a Scientific Paper which he later summarized in a Blog. Even in summarized Form, I don’t understand enough of his other Arguments to explain them well, but some of his Arguments that I did sort of Understand are a bit compelling. 

Note that 3I/ATLAS was only discovered earlier this Month of July 2025, so it is a very new Discovery. One Argument that Loeb puts forward is that it is unusual that it will reach its Point nearest of our Sun just as we on Earth will be on the Opposite Side of the Sun. 

This may have been intentional because at that Point, the Object will be at its brightest and thus would’ve been our best chance to see it clearly, but again, since it will be hidden from our View then we won’t be able to get that chance. 

Even more compelling is that the Object may perform what’s called as a Reverse “Oberth Maneuver” which means it will use the Sun’s Gravity to help slow it down. This Maneuver can be done at the Point nearest the Sun, but again, since we will not be able to see it at that time, then we won’t know right away. 

We will eventually know of Course if it did slow down when it continues its Journey around the Sun, but at a later time, and potentially when it is nearer our Planet. The Moment that we confirm that it has slowed down will also be the Moment we will know that it is indeed, an Alien Spacecraft because naturally occurring Objects in Space don’t do that, only Crafts that are being controlled do that. 

Also if it does slow down, then it is likely because it has the Intention to visit our Planet and/or the other Planets in our Solar System. The Issue here though is why would it then mask its true Nature from Observation from the Earth? 

One Answer is that it is Hostile and has not so good Intentions towards the Earth. But it could also mean that maybe they just didn’t want us to be alarmed more than we need to, and they might establish Communications once they know that we know already about their Spacecraft. 

It’s Optimal arrival on Earth is estimated to be by late November or early December of this Year of 2025, but we will know if it’s a Spacecraft if it slows down ahead of that. So in around three to four Month’s time, then ...
