Here are what I think are the at least watchable to Best Series and Movies that I watched on Netflix for the Month of September 2025:
* Unknown Number: The High School Catfish (2025) Documentary Movie – Above Average, this is about a Teenage Couple who were bullied by Text Messages several Years ago in the United States (US), and its profound impact on them, their Families and their small Town. Like all Mysteries, this is best viewed if you have not read any Spoilers or News Reports about it before for “Maximum Impact”. Netflix nicely set Things up so the Mystery is preserved until near the End of the Movie. IMHO (Spoilers coming up, don’t read this Part if you don’t want Spoilers), I agree with one of the Local Law Enforcers who said that this was a Type of the “Baron Munchausen by Proxy” Syndrome which affected the Perpetrator. It’s also possible that the Person had some sort of a Nervous Breakdown after losing their Job. Despite some slow Spots in the Middle, this remains a pretty good “Whodunit” Mystery Documentary Movie.
* Countdown: Canelo vs. Crawford, a Documentary Series (2025) – Outstanding, this is Primer for the Boxing Fight between Canelo Alvarez and Terrence Crawford, two of the Best Boxers in the last Decade and future Hall of Famers. This Limited Series is great for Casual Fans like me who didn’t really get to follow these two Boxers closely because it shows the History and Accomplishments of both Fighters, I learned a lot more about them just by watching this. The Series is narrated outstandingly by Josh Brolin. As for the Fight itself, the Experts say that Canelo has the Size Advantage, but Crawford has the Skill Advantage because of his higher Boxing Intelligence Quotient (IQ) and ability to fight either Right or Left handed. So this is expected to be a close Fight which will be held next Week on Saturday, September 13, 2025.
* Wednesday (2025) Season 2, Part 2 Series – Above average, this would’ve been outstanding were it not for a very slow start which nearly caused me to stop watching it. But the Season eventually got its Groove back, with some interesting Twists, including the origin of “Thing” and surprisingly even the Patriarch of the Family, Gomez Addams. Jenna Ortega who plays the Main Character “Wednesday” also got to show her considerable Acting Range during one of the Twists, which I won’t reveal here for now. This Part 2 though feels a little bit incomplete as Parts of its Story line have been left out to continue for an expected Season 3.
* aka Charlie Sheen (2025) Documentary Series – Outstanding, as told by Charlie and those close to him themselves. The Best Parts for me were the Film Footage they took when he and his Relatives and Friends were still young, they were lucky enough to have owned such Devices back then. I also liked learning how close these Hollywood “Nepo Babies” were back then, and almost everybody eventually became somebody. Charlie, Sean Penn, George Clooney, Nicolas Cage, etc., they all knew each other back then. The Part where they got to talk about what really happened towards the End of the then very popular Series “Two and Half Men” was also pretty good, and why Charlie eventually spiraled into Drug and Alcohol Abuse. Even Charlie’s Boss, his Producer Chuck Lorre confirmed what really happened. Also of note was how Charlie got to get rid of his Cocaine Addiction, and it was very ingenious how they did it. I won’t reveal how it was done, People will just have to watch the Series. Just a great Documentary, with a Happy Ending so far for Charlie.
* Haunted Hotel (2025) Animated Series – Outstanding, this is an Adult Animated Horror-Comedy Series about a Family who ended up owning and running a Hotel that is haunted by Ghosts that died there. Ever since the “Adult Swim” Production Company got greedy and stopped airing their “Rick and Morty (R&M)” Series on Netflix, Netflix has been trying hard to find a replacement for it since it was one of the more Popular Series in the Platform. They made several Attempts, but it hasn’t been very successful ... until now. This “Haunted Hotel” Series I think matches R&M in Terms of the Quality and Humor, but remains to be seen if it will be as Popular.
The Show is created by one of the Writers R&M, Matt Roller, who also was on the Production Staff of a Number of Hit Comedy Series like “Community” and “Archer”. This time he’s the “Boss” of this Series, and I think he did a great Job. Comedian Will Forte is, as always, great as one of the main Characters, as is Eliza Coupe who used to be on another Hit Comedy Series, “Scrubs”. The Others I am not as familiar with, but they did an excellent Job also. This Series is funny, has great Characters and interesting Storylines, I just hope it gets the Audience it deserves.
* House of Guinness (2025) Season One Series – Outstanding, this is a Historical Drama set during the middle Part of the second half of the 1800s and set mainly in Ireland about the Family behind one of the most Popular and recognizable Beer Brands in the World, “Guinness”. Most of the Stories revolves around the Lives of four young Siblings who inherited the Business after the Death of their Father and the succession Drama that followed. This Series reminds me a lot of “Game of Thrones” in Terms of the excellent multiple Storytelling and Storylines, the impressive Character Development and Dialogue, and of course the interesting Twists in the Plot. I also love the occasional big onscreen Graphics to help explain some of the Plot or stress a Point in the Story, as does the modern Irish Soundtrack, particularly the Rap ones, it reminds me a lot of what they did with the “Bridgerton” Series. One of the best Series for September 2025, and definitely one of the best Series for the Year 2025 on Netflix.
